NYC schools have a lotttt of breaks. Thankfully, Finn is able to attend a camp this week while school is off and we still have to work. It’s still cold here but has warmed up to the 40s and ya know what? I’ll take it.

We were all off on Monday and Albert took Finn for the entire afternoon. I met with a writers group and logged a bunch of words. My goal is to hit 40k by the end of the month and I really think I can do it now. I also spent 45 minutes just sitting on the couch in a mermaid blanket, sipping some coffee. (Perhaps three additional cups of caffeine in the afternoon was not wise, but it was so soothing.)

In four years of being V’s mother, he has NEVER fallen asleep on the couch. All the activities of Monday must have gotten to him and he passed out hard around 6:15pm. Skipped supper, skipped bath, skipped teeth brushing, skipped pajamas. He had to be carried to bed and I had to do some hardcore urging to get him out of bed at 7:05 the next morning. I was worried that maybe he was sick but nope – just exhausted. It was actually really cute to see and a nice reminder that he’s still my baby.

For Xmas, I got my beau a monthly pasta box from Raffetto’s, a downtown shop that makes the best fresh pasta. Turns out I’m enjoying the gift as much as he is. This month included some amazing lobster ravioli to be topped with some reeeeally good caviar. What a treat on a Wednesday!
